The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Redskins by a score of 27-23 to notch their first win of this young season. The game came down to a hail mary attempt by Kirk Cousins that was batted down by J.J. Wilcox in the end zone giving the Cowboys a win. It was a great team win for the Cowboys as everything seemed to click for them.

The Cowboys got some late game assistance from the Redskins center, Kory Lichtensteiger, who drew a very costly flag at the end of the game. Lichtensteiger flinched his arm a little bit like he was going to snap the ball and drew a false start penalty because of it. The flag could not have come at a worse time as it resulted in a five yard penalty and a 10 second runoff of the clock.

Dez Bryant complained after the team’s lost to the Giants last weekend about not getting the ball enough, but that was not the case this week. He caught 7 of his 12 targets for 102 yards and torched Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland in the process. Dez Bryant and Dak Prescott seemed to have better chemistry this week than they did in week 1 and that was clear throughout the game.

Dak Prescott looked a lot more confident this week than he did in week 1. He was making all the right calls, finding the open receiver, and just being an overall game manager who looked nothing like a rookie. Prescott finished the game with 292 passing yards on 22/30 completions with no touchdowns but was able to score a six yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.

The Cowboys look to improve their record to 2-1 next week when they take on the struggling 0-2 Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football.
